Ads are gay

Salut ——>

Short form is brain rot. You know it, I know it... everybody knows it.

Ever spiralled in the loop yaself? I have. Youtube short form oblivion. X reels annihilation... or whatever they're called.

I wake myself out inception style. Except.... I'm not Leo in a saville row suit. Instead I feel like I just waltzed in and caught myself jerking off.

It's fuckin embarrassing.

So, I don't keep social media on my phone.

I don't keep junk food in my apartment.... because it helps keep my diet decent.

Same for social. Keep it away from from my pocket and my hand.

Imagine being a health product and selling yaself via short form? I don't care what everyone says about eyeballs or whatever. It's incongruent.

And for real...

Zoomers and boomers with the attention span of a wobbegong?

I don't reckon that's a good longterm customer.

And I don't believe in it.

I believe in reading. It takes more effort for sure. But I feel better after I've read... I feel inspired and pumped up and energetic and alive.

Just as a walk beats the couch, a read beats the reel.

And readers are better customers....

They're in it for longer. They're smarter.

Like I said in the tweet screenshot above. I don't see the work of creative strategists....

Well, that is sort of a lie. I watched a few in the meta ads account this morning. They were recommended from some guy on Twitter...

And yeah they were good.... ish

But they sure as herpes weren't good for you. 30 seconds reflection is all it took.

I don't mind a piece of content that kicks me up the bum. I don't mind an emotionally charged story. And I goddam love havin a lol...

But the ads I watched were weird....

...all you need to do is take some gel capsule of oregano and black seed oil and that will fix everything about you from years of drinking and losing your wife and losing your friends respect...??

I don't buy it.

Funny thing is..

I do actually already rate those oils. Just not in that way.

Ben Settle used to say that cheap is the new expensive

I think quick and easy is the new hard and long...

And I reckon most smart customers already know it too.

What's that Seal saying?

"Slow is smooth and smooth is fast"

Salut ——> The N word, in this case, doesn’t end in R. Nor does it end in A… for the hip hops heads. This is a different word entirely. See, God has died. And it’s not for the first time. In fact, God has died and been born again many times. He is, like the rest of us, a part of the world of perpetual birth and death and birth again. Some may call this reincarnation. But…. there is often a gap. A gap between death and the start of life again. We’re in a gap now. The ancient world, and even...

Salut ——> This is the true angle.... or at least the one that I buy. Get rich quick sounds great for about a minute. But I've lived long enough to grasp that what comes unearned feels unsatisfactory. My mission (for now) is to grow my list. And if I'm honest, I don't really know how to do it... A lot of the advice out there seems kinda gay to me.... by gay I don't mean homo. I just mean that it gives me the ick. And gay is a way better word than ick. What's most icky (lol) is that nearly all...

Salut ——> A few weeks ago I made a decision to start publishing my writing online. I was in love (no homo) with email list guys like Ben Settle and Ian Stanley. (Do they hate each other?) So I had to write daily emails. And the easiest way seemed like Substack. I even bought my own domain. In my mind, I kind of knew it was a half job. I’d have to move it somewhere else eventually. But I’d barnstormed in and got moving before thinking too much. Well after 5 weeks I’ve left Substack. My new...
